"‘Illusions’ is Tschaekofske’s debut release, on it you’ll find eleven tracks of music that showcase his many guitar playing talents. The songs are mostly more melodic in style and bring to mind words like, relaxing, reflective and soothing.
While the tracks are all instrumental Tschaekofske uses his guitar like a paint brush painting a vivid picture through the varying guitar styles and many tempo changes that he uses in his songs, with each new chord played adding another stroke to this musical painting.
Highlight tracks for me included; “Game Face (Now Is the Time)” one of the livelier tracks, that offers up great string work that produces a very interesting and entertaining end sound. I also enjoyed the nice string work found on the track, “Inamorata Mirage.”
While this release will be enjoyed by all, I’m sure that fellow guitarist will really enjoy all of the little nuances and different playing methods used on it, that might not be fully gotten by the untrained ear.
To me this release would best be enjoyed when you’re having one of those, ‘laid back days,’ when you want to sit back in a really comfy chair with your feet propped up and a cold beverage of choice in your hand as you listen to all of its wonderful guitar tones."

"Terry Lynn Tschaekofske and his debut solo album, "Illusions," is a collection of songs in which he lets his expert guitar playing be placed center stage. The album is recorded using a variety of guitars; numerous types of sublime electric and acoustic sounds are featured on different tracks, yet on each track Terry is not accompanied by other instruments at all. He wants the listener to calmly take in the subtle and nuanced sounds of his prized instrument. On the song, "Who Was She," we hear an electric guitar slowly croon a love song. The song "Santa Cruz Lady," features an acoustic guitar employing a more upbeat sound with a slight blues influence. On the track, "Inamorata Mirage," we hear Terry's smooth double picking as he plays what comes off as a pleasing antiquated melody. This album is wonderful for relaxing and reflective moments; when one is curled up by the fire or to have playing nicely in the background for a family BBQ. If you enjoy tranquil yet talented music or simply are a fan of instrumental guitar compositions then "Illusions" is an album that you would enjoy hearing. "

"I wanted you to know I’m really enjoying your CD. Several of the songs I already knew because you had free downloadable versions of them on your website. Those versions were great, but they sound even better on your CD because the sound quality is so good.
Your music is very expressive. The repeat and fade motif at the end of "Permanent Scar" really makes the point that some scars are permanent, and like that last chord, echo through the rest of our lives without resolution. Wow, that's a very effective technique.
My favorite song from your website is “Rose Colored Glasses,” but I think I have a new favorite – “Every Moment.” What a beautiful song. I know asking you to pick your personal favorite would be like asking a mom to choose her favorite child – an impossible task. But there is one song that seems to be particularly full of emotion. It could be that it’s one of the first of your songs I ever heard, but “Game Face (Now Is the Time)” has always seemed to me to be a very powerful song. The CD version is especially strong. That song rings with decision and determination.
The whole CD is beautiful and worth the wait. Congratulations again."

"I really enjoyed Illusions. All the songs on this CD are great. Two of my favorite songs on this CD are The Other Side of Paradise and Valley of Illusion.. The Other Side of Paradise is a more upbeat tune but is still relaxing to listen to. Valley of Illusion is one of my favorite songs on this CD. I like the changes in the melody."
